PhD Program

Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education and Scholarship (IDDEAS)

IDDEAS@Booth/Kellogg - Fall 2021

IDDEAS@Booth/Kellogg is a two-day program for undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds interested in learning about business research at the doctoral level.

This two-day program, co-hosted by the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, seeks to attract a diverse group of promising undergraduate students and introduce them to research at the doctoral level. The goal of this program is to support and encourage student and faculty diversity in business schools.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about doctoral level research in business.
  • get information about graduate school opportunities.
  • receive advice and insights on the application process.
  • meet and interact with current doctoral students and faculty.
  • discuss careers in research and teaching.

Ideal candidates for the IDDEAS program are current college sophomores, juniors, or seniors with strong quantitative skills and academic records. Candidates must submit an application and provide a strong academic letter of recommendation from an advisor or faculty member who is knowledgeable about their experience or interest in research.

Travel and accommodations are provided for participants.

Because of its strong belief in the value of diversity (broadly defined) in the pursuit of its educational mission, Chicago Booth strongly encourages applications from women and under-represented groups, as well as from others whose backgrounds and experience would bring additional dimensions to the educational experience.

The next IDDEAS@Booth/Kellogg event will take in Fall 2021. Please check back for updates!
